About Me
Hello! My name is Sarah. Since I was a young girl, I have been fascinated by horses. My dad, being a horse veterinarian, and both of my siblings participating in hippotherapy during their childhood, definitely contributed to that. The way horses choose to work with humans, their spirit, forgiveness, and love is something I admire deeply. I started trail riding in the forest by myself at 10 years old. Those experiences enriched my life and continue to do so.
Throughout adulthood, I kept working with horses. Staying in line with my Masters of Science in Psychology degree, I volunteered at the stables of our local psychiatric hospital and at a ranch in Sweden to assist with Equine Assisted Therapy sessions. In 2023, I decided to become EAGALA certified myself. After that, I worked as a trail guide in the beautiful Florida Panhandle.
These experiences made me look at horse welfare through a different lens. I saw firsthand the effects a poorly fitting saddle had on a horse: Behavioral issues, ulcers, atrophy, and chronic pain. None of this comes from bad intent. How a saddle should fit is something most riders are simply never taught. It certainly wasn’t taught to me!
I decided to train with with world-class saddle fitter Wendy Winn in Kansas. There, I learned the true details of saddle fitting. I am fortunate to call Wendy my mentor, and she continues to mentor and advise me throughout my fitting sessions.
When a saddle fits the horse correctly and is the correct fit for the rider (which is just as important), balance is restored. From that moment on, a true partnership can develop, one you will feel in every ride.
I would love to help you and your horse build this true partnership!
